Received e book through the Authors Requesting Reviews ARR program on Goodreads for an honest review also posted on .com under Leanne GoonFaerie Tales The Misfortune of a Teenage Socialite is told by the point of view of Valerie Williams, the most popular girl in Humansville High, who takes a job at her mother s company, Enamel Wear, Inc., after her parents decide she needs to understand the value of a dollar There, she discovers she is actually a tooth fairy and must learn the tools Received e book through the Authors Requesting Reviews ARR program on Goodreads for an honest review also posted on .com under Leanne GoonFaerie Tales The Misfortune of a Teenage Socialite is told by the point of view of Valerie Williams, the most popular girl in Humansville High, who takes a job at her mother s company, Enamel Wear, Inc., after her parents decide she needs to understand the value of a dollar There, she discovers she is actually a tooth fairy and must learn the tools of the trade from none other than Goderick Rick Mandrake, the weird Goth guy at school who engages in staring contests with her in class As she takes on new responsibilities, she begins to examine her character and her new feelings for Rick and another fairy, Vincent Collins, which conflict with her having a human boyfriend, Calvin I thought Salazar did a respectable job in making Valerie s character likeable, despite her materialistic outlook and her self absorbed attitude in the beginning of the story I enjoyed her growth into amature and caring person to both her family and her friends In addition, I liked how her romance with Rick developed and how she subsequently had to be honest to herself about her relationship with Calvin Moreover, Salazar did an admirable job with the witty dialogue, although there were grammatical errors and mistaken brand names e.g Louis Vinton instead of Louis Vuitton On the other hand, I did have a few issues with the story I thought the love triangle with Rick and Vincent was a little unbelievable it was hard to reconcile that she had feelings so quickly for Vincent after knowing him for such a short time Likewise, I thought it also unrealistic that the mystery of the tampered teeth was repeatedly ignored by Valerie It seemed to be glazed over and left up in the air probably to form the basis for a sequel Lastly, I felt the end was abruptly wrapped up, such that I was questioning how and why Valerie came to her decisions about her love life and her tooth fairy future.Overall, this book was an average read I thought it had a rather unique concept, but the story and characters didn t captivate me I don t believe I am the demographic of the intended reader, so I would recommend this only to young readers, who want a quick, fast paranormal read

Review I have the pleasure of receiving a copy from an honest review The story introduces us to Valerie Williams, a junior in high school, a cheerleader, and who happens to be dating the best looking guy in school the quarterback for the football team She s like your typical stereotype popular girl who only cares about looking perfect, dating the perfect guy, having the perfect friends, and having the newest clothes She plans to marry her high school boyfriend, and spend the rest of her life Review I have the pleasure of receiving a copy from an honest review The story introduces us to Valerie Williams, a junior in high school, a cheerleader, and who happens to be dating the best looking guy in school the quarterback for the football team She s like your typical stereotype popular girl who only cares about looking perfect, dating the perfect guy, having the perfect friends, and having the newest clothes She plans to marry her high school boyfriend, and spend the rest of her life not working and shopping She s so into herself she doesn t really pay attention to everyone else but expects them to pay attention to her.Everything changes when her parents make her get a job working at her mom s work Since Valerie has spent so much time on herself she has no idea what her mother does for a job She drives with her mom that night, arriving at a old run down building, upon entering the elevator her mother takes her into a world she thought was only fantasy She learns that she s a faerie with one day wings, and her new job is a tooth faerie She s partnered up with Rick Mandrake the second hottest guy in school if he wasn t into goth After a few mishaps her first night Valerie knows her life will never be the same.Through out the story we watch Valerie go from the selfish once popular girl to the unpopular girl you can t help falling in love with She looses her boyfriend when he learns that she s a faerie it s just to much for him to deal with but thankfully Rick is there to pick up the pieces Throughout the story I watch as Valerie grow as a character I rooted for even felt sad for her when it didn t always go the way I wanted it too I couldn t put it down, it sucked me in right away I love the character development they are so well written you feel like you know them I had so many emotions when I read the book, I had moments where I laughed, cheered, was even sad, and I had some angry moments where I wanted to scream at Valerie but in the end I love it It was a beautifully written story I would recommend to anyone who loves paranormal books

I really enjoyed this book The tooth fairy theme was refreshing and original I liked how the heroine, Valerie, transitioned from spoiled, self centered teen queen to caring, considerate woman, for the most part Her self discovering journey was a little rushed in some places and there was a couple times when I was confused about what was going on but, I liked how the author kept the reader guessing There was some frustration, like how she bounced back and forth a few times but Val is still yo I really enjoyed this book The tooth fairy theme was refreshing and original I liked how the heroine, Valerie, transitioned from spoiled, self centered teen queen to caring, considerate woman, for the most part Her self discovering journey was a little rushed in some places and there was a couple times when I was confused about what was going on but, I liked how the author kept the reader guessing There was some frustration, like how she bounced back and forth a few times but Val is still young and her actions are actually typical for a girl her age I do have to say that the ending was extremely satisfying I won t give away any info but she ended up where she should ve, in my opinion I do wish two things one, that it was a longer story withdetail into the mystery surrounding the company, and two, that the background information about her mom and Frank had been played out a little , otherwise, I found this to be a terrific read appropriate for any age

I didn t really enjoy the style of storytelling employed in this novel Nevertheless, I think there were some really interesting conceptual things going on I just didn t connect on an emotional level with any of the characters or find myself drawn into the plot Still, the author s rhetorical strategy was clearly apparent in the development of the main protagonist, Val.Short review Pros Narrative voice Wonderful job with this Interesting Concept and a new take on tooth faeries I think, not I didn t really enjoy the style of storytelling employed in this novel Nevertheless, I think there were some really interesting conceptual things going on I just didn t connect on an emotional level with any of the characters or find myself drawn into the plot Still, the author s rhetorical strategy was clearly apparent in the development of the main protagonist, Val.Short review Pros Narrative voice Wonderful job with this Interesting Concept and a new take on tooth faeries I think, not an expert I thought the cover was gorgeous And I was interested from very early on about the black wings vs the white.Cons Grammar, Usage and Mechanics although it did seem to improve the further in the reader went they were annoying, but they didn t inhibit the understanding of the sentences Told, not Shown a few threads that weren t fully developed one might call them loose.Longer review The author did a great job with narrative voice When I started reading I got an immediate sense of who Val was the style of language as she explained her world and life was perfect I could hear her smacking her gum as she begrudgingly gave me the explanation I wasn t worthy of Val is that prissy, preppy, beautiful high school girl that doesn t care about anyone but herself And then her life gets complicated in a new way cause you know, being a socialite is hard work. Her parents force her to get a job which wrecks her whole life No really Those selfish jerks Sorry See what I meant about narrative voice Of course, these parents don t seem to care that her life is turning upside down that she is getting less than four hours of sleep before school, that her grades are dropping, or that she is undergoing several personal crises Wait though They aren t completely neglectful they will ground her several times for staying out with her various men.And yes, they are multitude And she pingpongs among them all the while questioning why she doesn t haveof a backbone And providing phrases assuring readers that male __ is actually really great, stunningly empathetic, super hot and supportive and totally perfect What is frustrating is that there is little development of any of these characters Readers receive physical attributes and are told about these other perks They rarely come out in the story events Add this to the time jumps, where three months disappears with nothingexciting to report than things getting strained between girl and boyfriend __, and the story feels a little incomplete There is a lot of tell, but not a lot of show And plot points that enter into the story through highly coincidental and contrived events slip out of focus only to be neatly wrapped up but not quite at the end The pacing was a concern, as was the tendency to gloss over huge details 3 months here, 2 there, etc The full explanation of the tooth fairy business The reason her parents were grossly incompetent in every department EXCEPT and maybe also, given the latter plot boys Just missing pieces The framework is good, and the characterization of Val totally believable but since she isn t particularly likable for most maybe all of the book, it is hard for that characterization to carry the whole plot. And then there were some technical writing issues If the word had a homonym, chances were it was used in the place of the correct spelling My personal favorite was foe leather I loved the idea that Val was trying to convince the reader of her conscientious PETA she says Peta awareness when she didn t know how to spell faux so I kept in mind that the spelling might be part of the character but the issue wasn t isolated to Val s narration In the same section, Val discusses patent leather as though it is animal friendly weird. All in all, it really wasn t my type of read, but I can see that many people have enjoyed it Fans of the love equals triangle or square, etc turned into aww love plots would probably find this quite enjoyable Especially because every many that Val manages to attract is totally beautiful and loyal with only slight imperfections that they are willing to spend oodles of time trying to fix The book is a quick read and Val does evolve throughout the book, although I am not sure precisely the message that this transformation is intended to send There are several possibilities, and since I wasn t really connecting with the book, I don t feel like I am one to guess at it
