Its just that it was so fun I laughed with tears at the irony of it all Annie and Nick are adorable There was no way to call their relationship anything but masquerade it was And funny thing how she wanted to reject him because he left her for her. Twisty I know Really great lesson though about leaving your shaky past behind and cling to God who is our Strong Tower Real tangle though was Josie and Eli and the other couple. It was only fitting to add the third pair in this third book. I laughed with characters andat them realizing how silly I was before my wedding Truly there is a saying in Russia about women if she is blond she wants to be brunet and vice versa, if she got straight hair she wants it curly and vice versa, if she is tall she wishes to be short, and if she is short well nothing will better the being tall Somehow all these stories portray exactly that The word FINE in woman s vocabulary is anything but fine I cant say whose story I liked most because each was fun, touching, worrisome, and of course teaching Teaching us women to stand up for ourselves to be the persons God had created us to be The courage and ambition show by these women didn t just win their men s love it won respect from everyone for their radical ideas.Enjoy each book, I know Im buying the hard copy for my youth bookshelf Disclaimer I got a free copy of this book, from Barbour Publishing through NetGalley, in exchange for my honest opinion

I m probably biased because our family has had several great trips to Duluth and along the North Shore, but this book was a lot of fun This is my second book by Erica Vetsch and while I wish the stories were full length, she weaves humor and a sweet story to a delightful conclusion Perfect for cold spring nights in Minnesota Of course, whenever I finish a 5 star book, it is at least a week before anything else even catches my attention Time to catch up on some nonfiction I guess

My Review of North Star Brides is all mine I was given this ebook and enjoyed reading it.4 starsAbraham Kennebrae is a wealthy business man He also has three grandsons who are single and work for his shipping line the North Star He wants them to marry heiress and help get major contracts for his shipping yard. This novel was interesting and gave me a lot to think about as it around 1905 I really did not think about women hiding in the middle of the night to work on woman s right to vote rally My Review of North Star Brides is all mine I was given this ebook and enjoyed reading it.4 starsAbraham Kennebrae is a wealthy business man He also has three grandsons who are single and work for his shipping line the North Star He wants them to marry heiress and help get major contracts for his shipping yard. This novel was interesting and gave me a lot to think about as it around 1905 I really did not think about women hiding in the middle of the night to work on woman s right to vote rally or to teach woman how to read and speak English Or have the freedom of your own money Go to school and be what ever you want and are willing to work for.The four young woman were willing to take a stand to try and make their life better for them and others too Staying strong with God s will and his plans Of course they were all pretty woman with training to be a lady Their families think nothing of making marriage contracts and business deals. The Grandsons do not want their brides chosen for them They do not want to be bought or sold They don t want a scandal either for their fianc s or the North Star They don t really think much about woman s right but once they start thinking or learning about their fianc s choices they don t mind either.Abraham makes the deals with the girl s fathers and they get the announcing of their engagements out of the blue Abraham is hiding secrets He is worried about going back on his word but he does not see anything wrong with lying to his grandsons or blackmailing them. This is a Christian novel but it all fits into the story lines well A few scriptures, church meeting, prayer and talk of finding what God s plans are for each person Some of the people went to church just to be seen and others rely on prayer to get them through hard times It is also a clean read. The settings on the Great Lakes make me want to visit but not during winter season Hard to imagine lakes that big when you live in a dry state like Utah.I like that the three stories of the three brothers is in one volume so it really just one book to find out what each brothers choices are I hate waiting for next story and hope I remember the first story before the third one comes out.I will be willing to readstories from Erica in the future It is easy to get lost in her stories.I was given this ebook to read for a honest review by Netgalley.Publisher Barbour Publishing, Inc August 1, 2013 368 pages ISBN 10 1624162568 Description below is taken off of Netgalley.Minnesota tycoon Abraham Kennebrae is in the business of love when he plans to marry his grandsons to the wealthiest heiresses in town The trouble is the brothers and their future brides aren t happy about the prospect Jonathan desperately wants to keep his fortune while Melissa wants to protect her deepest secret and her heart Noah flees to the safety of Sutton Island where he unexpectedly meets his would be bride, Anastasia Eli is betrothed to marry Clarice Zahn, yet it is her younger sister, Josie, who truly has eyes for the groom Can true love result from mismatched matchmaking

This book contains three stories The overall plot has to do with the grandfather of the three brothers He wants them to all marry ladies who are the daughters of three businessmen he wants to be in business with Of course none of the three grandsons want any part of his plan and each story is one of the grandsons trying to get out of the marriage yet they all find themselves falling for the women he chose for them I really liked this book Even though it is three different stories they flow This book contains three stories The overall plot has to do with the grandfather of the three brothers He wants them to all marry ladies who are the daughters of three businessmen he wants to be in business with Of course none of the three grandsons want any part of his plan and each story is one of the grandsons trying to get out of the marriage yet they all find themselves falling for the women he chose for them I really liked this book Even though it is three different stories they flow so well together I almost forgot it was not just one book All three of the stories had strong characters and good plots. What I liked This book was quite enjoyable I liked how all three stories though separate tied together and made it feellike one book then three shorter stories I liked all the characters and thought that all three of the stories were quite good The plots of all three stories were well written They did not feel like short stories. What I did not like This was a good book and there was not much I did not like The overall idea of the grandfather forcing his grandsons to marry who he choose or they would be disowned seemed a little far fetched but it was still an enjoyable story Overall this was a great book and I highly recommend it I live on Lake Superior so I really enjoyed the setting of Duluth Minnesota and also the lighthouse and time on the ship made it a well rounded book if you re interested in the great lakes Grab this fun historical fiction you will not be disappointed

I LOVED this trio of books in one I am always up for a great series because I like returning to old friends for another story I love how all the characters are intertwined in these stories, as the main characters are three brothers.I picked this book up at my local library book sale I am from Minnesota and I actually went to college in Duluth the town the stories are set in So I loved that familiar aspect I recognized the lighthouse from the cover of the book so I scooped it up.Historical I LOVED this trio of books in one I am always up for a great series because I like returning to old friends for another story I love how all the characters are intertwined in these stories, as the main characters are three brothers.I picked this book up at my local library book sale I am from Minnesota and I actually went to college in Duluth the town the stories are set in So I loved that familiar aspect I recognized the lighthouse from the cover of the book so I scooped it up.Historical fiction isn t usually my normal genre but I loved this blend of historical fiction and romance The characters were charming and the stories heartfelt and interesting. The only part I didn t like was Grandfather Kennebrae I wanted to punch him in the face throughout a lot of the book But a few sweet and humble moments helped pacify me and all ended well, so I m happy

What s not to like about a book like this You have a family patriarch who desires to build alliances through his grandsons unions Three males Three females And the unique and delightfully rich stories of how they come together. This book offered wonderful Christian themed lessons regarding love and what it entails It would be a great read for all those who seek clean fiction with a positive message.I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review The opinion I have expressed is my own.
