UGGH, needed an editor, especially for the dialog Hard to enjoy a story when you can t tell who is speaking And the dialog was way over the top The couple seemed to switch back and forth between 14th century Scotland and current times with their manner of speech and their vocabulary.

Celtic Fury is the first book in the Celtic Storm series by Ria Cantrell, and is classed as a paranormal romance However after reading this story it is a romance novel with whispers of the paranormal The story follows the Ruiri MacCollum who on his way back to the Scottish Highlands stumbles on the carriage accident and discovers a very injured young woman Brielle Val Cour Compelled to help her Ruiri takes her under his protective wing as their story becomes complicated by a long standing h Celtic Fury is the first book in the Celtic Storm series by Ria Cantrell, and is classed as a paranormal romance However after reading this story it is a romance novel with whispers of the paranormal The story follows the Ruiri MacCollum who on his way back to the Scottish Highlands stumbles on the carriage accident and discovers a very injured young woman Brielle Val Cour Compelled to help her Ruiri takes her under his protective wing as their story becomes complicated by a long standing hatred between Clan MacCollum and Clan Campbell The two struggle to come to terms with their growing love for each other Will the hatred between the clans tear them apart or will it bring them closer together As I started to read I realized that this book was going to beabout the romance, than things that go bump in the night It is a bit formulaic and brings nothing new to the genre other than a different story to be told For those who love romance novels will be intrigued and delighted to read this story. In my option the first book in any series much is the most difficult one to write For the author has to lay the groundwork for future story lines so I keep that in mind as I read and try not to make quick judgments and to understand that this book is a special creation of the author and as I read they are growing as a writer This first book in the Celtic Storm series is just that, the first book in the series The book started off a bit choppy and I was struggling to find the rhythm of the author s writing With a series of stop and go paragraphs coupled with the Scottish dialect it was a bit confusing but as I continued to read it started to flow and the grammar and formatting much improved This book is rated for adults and it has its fair share of steamy scenes, which is fitting for it is a romance book However, I felt that it stalled the story a bit and slowed the plot down The Characters of the is novel are interesting and have great potential to become bigger than the story The author really has a love for them which can be felt through her writing The hero of the story Rory MacCollum is said to be feared throughout the highlands and his dark past stemmed from loved lost However as I read Rory was never really dark, there were only hits of his darkness, it was to evenly balanced with love for his family to be a flawed dark hero and he felt a bit flat and never had the depth that I would have liked to have seen Though this is the first book and I would hope to learnabout Rory as the series continues As for the Heroine of the story Brielle, she felt muchdefined and was the only character that had any kind of growth as the story progressed We see her morph from a timid and fearful person to coming alive within her relationship with Rory, even in the height of terror or danger she found strength within herself to survive She is the survivor of this story and in my opinion had darker demons than Rory There were many supporting characters of the book that were either briefly introduced during the telling of this story whom may or may not make appearance in future installments of this book. This is an easy book to read once you get past the beginning and it moves along at a decent pace until the steamy bits of the book, but then the pace returns to normal and we see the plot unfold We see a bit of excitement at the end of the book that ties everything together nicely so you will not be left hanging at the end of this novel and be waiting for the next book I would recommend this book for those who have a love for the romance genre The story was light hearted, predicable though it brings nothing new to this genre still enjoyable if you are looking for something to pass the time With that said I give this book 3 stars This is the first published book for the author Ria Cantrell and is available atas an ebook for 3.99.Reviewed for DarkissReads www.darkissreads.com Reviewed by Rayven

The book was good and I did like H and h The romance was also good It had great potential, the thing I didn t like was the redundancy What I mean is that it had the same sentences, in other words same wording with a different scene throughout the book.I just wish there had beenof a story.

This one was sitting in my Kindle for some time I tried before to read it but couldn t get into it Now I can see why cardboard stock characters amid rambling redundant purple prose galore, plus the most dreaded of all romance novel stereotypes the Too Dumb To Live Heroine Okay, there was also a TDTL hero If you would cut away the two thirds of useless fat to just the one third of lean meat and give Brielle a brain transplant, you might have come up with an okay novella What was the weird This one was sitting in my Kindle for some time I tried before to read it but couldn t get into it Now I can see why cardboard stock characters amid rambling redundant purple prose galore, plus the most dreaded of all romance novel stereotypes the Too Dumb To Live Heroine Okay, there was also a TDTL hero If you would cut away the two thirds of useless fat to just the one third of lean meat and give Brielle a brain transplant, you might have come up with an okay novella What was the weird stuff about Brielle s changing eye color From violet hazel what is that anyway, did she have one violet eye and one hazel one to violet with hazel flecks just try to even picture that, ew then lilac, then back to violet, then lilac again No wonder this is categorized as a paranormal romance, nothing s normal about these folks, especially after about the 75% mark, when the stupid stuff just started coming too fast and furious to count This book read less like a silly romance novel than a parody of silly romance novels There is one positive thing that I can say about this book it contained so much garbage that it was really easy to skim through it really fast

This third book in the Celtic Storm series is all about Rory MacCollum, brother to Bronwyn from the previous book It s a really good story and I found it an entertaining read The reason it lost one star as compared to the first two novels was the repetitive nature of the love proclamations and back and forth between I love him and I have to tell him I hate him to save him dialogue I thought much of it could have been edited out and still have had a strong impact Other than that, I enjoye This third book in the Celtic Storm series is all about Rory MacCollum, brother to Bronwyn from the previous book It s a really good story and I found it an entertaining read The reason it lost one star as compared to the first two novels was the repetitive nature of the love proclamations and back and forth between I love him and I have to tell him I hate him to save him dialogue I thought much of it could have been edited out and still have had a strong impact Other than that, I enjoyed the plot, the characters and the steamy passion

Silly as it may sound, I enjoyed this book simply because the feuds in this story reminded me of a Scottish version of the Hatfields and the McCoys and I always wondered what a love story between them would look like Personally, I felt like the evil brother had too easy a death after all the suffering he caused but her other brother accepting his responsibility for what happened to her was touching even if she didn t accept his apology Almost makes a girl want to move to the Highlands herself Silly as it may sound, I enjoyed this book simply because the feuds in this story reminded me of a Scottish version of the Hatfields and the McCoys and I always wondered what a love story between them would look like Personally, I felt like the evil brother had too easy a death after all the suffering he caused but her other brother accepting his responsibility for what happened to her was touching even if she didn t accept his apology Almost makes a girl want to move to the Highlands herself Though I may not be able to stand the heat if you know what I mean
