What can i say, except what an utterly fabulous book I howled laughing at Lynda s story about Alison in the country and her idea of saving the animals There is no one who writes like Lynda and only she can literally having you laughing out loud about life, while making you look at life so differently It is literally like having a comedian in your hands At the same time as all the humor she deals with brilliant topics such as animal cruelty, relationships and a heap of other daily topics.Lynd What can i say, except what an utterly fabulous book I howled laughing at Lynda s story about Alison in the country and her idea of saving the animals There is no one who writes like Lynda and only she can literally having you laughing out loud about life, while making you look at life so differently It is literally like having a comedian in your hands At the same time as all the humor she deals with brilliant topics such as animal cruelty, relationships and a heap of other daily topics.Lynda never fails to give you everything to show you there is always someone who is having a worse day, if you have read any of Lynda s other books you will know this is another brilliant book If you havent.get reading and brighten your day

Lesley for www.bigbooklittlebook.comHaving received some delightful birthday gifts ofvouchers recently I happily uploaded said vouchers in great anticipation of scrolling through some Kindle reads and adding to my collection Pink Wellies and Flat Caps caught my eye as you might imagine such a title would and with little other consideration was clicked and added to my reading list. This is a light hearted and comical read with some great laugh out loud lines Alice is very likeable and Lesley for www.bigbooklittlebook.comHaving received some delightful birthday gifts ofvouchers recently I happily uploaded said vouchers in great anticipation of scrolling through some Kindle reads and adding to my collection Pink Wellies and Flat Caps caught my eye as you might imagine such a title would and with little other consideration was clicked and added to my reading list. This is a light hearted and comical read with some great laugh out loud lines Alice is very likeable and you immediately feel for her in her nightmarish situation of one minute loving life and feeling so happy and grateful for her fianc , job etc and then suddenly, in the midst of having a bra fitting of all things, having her life completely turned upside down. While we get the measure of her ex fianc early on as we read, for Alice, it s a much longer and timely process to work out what and who is going to be good for her In her utter despair, with everything falling apart around her she escapes to Cornwall to take up a job as a farm manager Poor Alice spends much of the book in two minds about what she is doing, especially as life on the farm is not all it s cracked up to be.Having answered an ad in The Lady magazine and packing her remaining belongings Alice heads to Cornwall with a very heavy and broken heart expecting to have a busy bustling job using her organisational skills from being a Practice Manager However she finally arrives to find a run down shambling farm owned by the remote but handsome Edward who wasn t expecting her and isn t very happy that she s managed to let the sheep out Thus begins Alice s experience with Cornish farm life Alice slowly adjusts to her new life even though it wasn t what she expects and makes friends and is even tempted on a date by the suave Dominic I liked the various characters and how the author brings so much comedy in to the various situations Alice finds herself in.Just when she is starting to feel better about herself and her circumstances, a blast from the past returns and throws everything on its head again Add in some animal liberation activity and a few unexpected dodgy dealings by those she thought she trusted and you get a very amusing tale.Verdict I really enjoyed this and will be looking forof Lynda Renhams work

Firstly I d like to thank Raucous Publishing for sending me this eBook to read and give an honest review I previously read and loved Coconuts and Wonderbras by the same author Like the previous book this had a witty and intriguing title, when I read the blurb I just knew that I would find the book interesting because of my own farming experience I won t go into details of that entertaining time of my life though. The very first sentence had me laughing out loud and that is always a good way Firstly I d like to thank Raucous Publishing for sending me this eBook to read and give an honest review I previously read and loved Coconuts and Wonderbras by the same author Like the previous book this had a witty and intriguing title, when I read the blurb I just knew that I would find the book interesting because of my own farming experience I won t go into details of that entertaining time of my life though. The very first sentence had me laughing out loud and that is always a good way to start a book in my opinion Alice was humorously shopping for bras with her friend Georgie when she received a shocking text that was set to change her life dramatically Her move to Cornwall was another big shock to her system it was very different to her life in London and I found her reactions to the adjustment extremely funny I loved the feisty banter between Alice and Edward, they were really comical whenever they were sniping at each other Alice was a fantastic character who had the tendency to let her imagination run away with her and I simply loved how dramatic she was, her London friends were just as funny especially when the three of them got together I couldn t stop giggling at their antics.About halfway through I was surprised to find an incredibly sad moment, I went from laughing out loud to crying buckets in just a few pages having been through something similar this sad episode definitely touched a nerve with me When the story first switched to another point of view I was surprised by what was revealed and had a feeling that it would seriously complicate Alice s new life. There were so many fantastic parts to this book but some of my favourites included a hilarious job interview, an outburst in the cowshed, a fun visit from Alice s friends and a rescue mission towards the end which was highly entertaining This author has such a naturally fun style of writing which makes it so easy to read her books, I really struggled to put the book down and felt like I was actually part of the story I didn t want it to end. This was another fantastic read from Lynda Renham, if you are looking for a book with lots of laughs then I would definitely recommend Pink Wellies and Flat Caps even the title makes me smile

Alice Lane is suddenly without a fiance after being dumped , without a flat as her ex fiance decides to sell it and without her NHS job after her hours were due to cut She decides to respond to a rather unusual ad looking for a farm manager in Devon Will a move to the country side change Alice s future When I first heard about the book, I was most intrigued by the title I thought it to be quite random, but it makes perfect sense after having read it I loved the fact that the title virtu Alice Lane is suddenly without a fiance after being dumped , without a flat as her ex fiance decides to sell it and without her NHS job after her hours were due to cut She decides to respond to a rather unusual ad looking for a farm manager in Devon Will a move to the country side change Alice s future When I first heard about the book, I was most intrigued by the title I thought it to be quite random, but it makes perfect sense after having read it I loved the fact that the title virtually gave nothing away about the book, but leaves the reader wondering about its significance. The book is written from a first person narrative, which I always really enjoy It feels so personal living the story from Alice s point of view Towards the end, some chapters were being told from Charlie s Alice s ex fiance and Georgie s Alice s best friend points of view I thought that this was a really nice idea and gave the story so muchemotion and feeling. It took me a few pages to really get into the book but when I did I was so glued to the storyline that I couldn t put it down and spent another night reading rather than sleeping Lynda s writing style is amusing and lively I loved the way she describes all the people living in Alice s new village so entertaining Also, all the little mishaps that Alice encounters when she first gets accustomed to her new farm life are hilarious and had me in stitches. The developing on and off love story between Edward owner of the farm and Alice was amazing Until the very end I was not sure whether they would eventually get together or not I love a book that leaves you guessing to the very end

This is the first of Lynda Renham s novels that I ve read and I hope it won t be the last This is a rom com in a book and is hugely entertaining, I read it in just over 24 hours which I think is the quickest I ve ever read a book combination of an amusing plot and not much on the tele.It s a light, easy read filled with laughable moments that have probably happened to most of us at some point or other and there are some great one liners The characters are all well mostly likeable Alice is This is the first of Lynda Renham s novels that I ve read and I hope it won t be the last This is a rom com in a book and is hugely entertaining, I read it in just over 24 hours which I think is the quickest I ve ever read a book combination of an amusing plot and not much on the tele.It s a light, easy read filled with laughable moments that have probably happened to most of us at some point or other and there are some great one liners The characters are all well mostly likeable Alice is a sweet character, if not a bit naive sometimes but just trying to see the best in everyone not a bad quality Edward comes across as a grumpy farmer but his reasons are revealed later Charlie is a pillock and well Cas, he is just hilariousvery Alan Carr esque There are other secondary characters that support really well also. This very much reminded me of Bridget Jones Diary and I could easy visualise Renee Zellwegger in Alice s role with Hugh Grant as Dominic and Colin Firth as Edward They have that type of rivalry going on.The swapping of points of view later in the book was a bit surprising and a bit confusing when it first happened I believe it was Lucy, short for Lucinda, but everyone calls me Luce who started it off and I think then all the main characters have a go in the spotlight.Overall, it s fun and light hearted which you ll enjoy if you like chick lit and rom com s and are a fan of Bridget Jones. Many thanks to Lynda for sending me a copy to read and review

The opening paragraph put a huge smile on my face and the action starts by the end of the first chapter From then on the story continues at a nice pace and easily allows the reader to experience the world of Alice, the city girl who has to reassess her life unexpectedly.I really don t want to spoil any of the book for those who haven t read it but can assure you that it is hilarious, yet it has you on the edge of your seat or bed, or wherever you prefer to read Alice goes through so many ups The opening paragraph put a huge smile on my face and the action starts by the end of the first chapter From then on the story continues at a nice pace and easily allows the reader to experience the world of Alice, the city girl who has to reassess her life unexpectedly.I really don t want to spoil any of the book for those who haven t read it but can assure you that it is hilarious, yet it has you on the edge of your seat or bed, or wherever you prefer to read Alice goes through so many ups and downs in such a short space of time that you go from laughing at her, to pitying her, to laughing at her again and even envying her.Renham has written a very enjoyable book with well rounded characters Pink Wellies and Flat Caps made my daily commute fun and I didn t even care about the funny looks I received due to sniggering think Muttley at Alice s mishaps. For the full review, please visit Little Miss Literature

Pink Wellies and Flat Caps was great fun to read, with lots of humour spread throughout the story from beginning to end There were quite a few twists and turns in the plot, keeping me guessing for some time what would happen next and how the main character, Alice s situation would be resolved. There was just the right amount of romance in this romantic comedy for me a sprinkling, with the focus on the characters and their development rather than lots of melodramatic prose.Having recently been Pink Wellies and Flat Caps was great fun to read, with lots of humour spread throughout the story from beginning to end There were quite a few twists and turns in the plot, keeping me guessing for some time what would happen next and how the main character, Alice s situation would be resolved. There was just the right amount of romance in this romantic comedy for me a sprinkling, with the focus on the characters and their development rather than lots of melodramatic prose.Having recently been in somewhat similar circumstances, I could really empathise with Alice, and her narrative draws you right into a world filled with intrigue and mishaps.Overall, I really enjoyed reading this wonderful book, and look forward to readingfrom this fabulously humourous author. In compliance with FTC guidelines, I do have to disclose that I received my copy of this book for free through Goodreads First Reads

Having spent many years reading only serious literature, I find myself wandering towards the lighter side of life, which led me first to Croissants and Jam by Lynda Renham, which I loved, and thenrecently to this, her latest novel I absolutely loved it A thoroughly grand romp, which sees Alice, our heroine, going outside her comfort zone and exchanging the shiny city and her designer heels for the smelly countryside and muddy boots I challenge anyone not to laugh out loud at her well Having spent many years reading only serious literature, I find myself wandering towards the lighter side of life, which led me first to Croissants and Jam by Lynda Renham, which I loved, and thenrecently to this, her latest novel I absolutely loved it A thoroughly grand romp, which sees Alice, our heroine, going outside her comfort zone and exchanging the shiny city and her designer heels for the smelly countryside and muddy boots I challenge anyone not to laugh out loud at her well meaning but misguided attempts to fit in and I bet you can t get through the novel without rushing off for a giant bag of Maltesers Not going to tell you why You should find out for yourself This is a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day and I thoroughly recommend you escape to the country with Alice
