So this is shelved on my crazy covers shelf because it looks like it belongs on a 50 Shades of Grey knock off Corporate smexy times Not quite giving off the mermaid vibe, you know Anyway, it was a cute little short story but there s very little explanation about the mermaid stuff Or who tried to kill the MC Or anything, really I d say this is a shallow read, a little too long for a bubble bath read, but maybe a breezy afternoon in a hammock read.

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here HATE.Really, alas.In principle I should be contend with this story, in love with it actually as it has everything I love about mermaidstories there is a beautiful mermaid with ability to grow legs in fact living mainly on land and there is sex In fact I should jump with joy because of this pairing, especially given the fact that the author provided this book free..But noThe problem with this story can summarized briefly submissive fairytale I know of course that there is whole s HATE.Really, alas.In principle I should be contend with this story, in love with it actually as it has everything I love about mermaidstories there is a beautiful mermaid with ability to grow legs in fact living mainly on land and there is sex In fact I should jump with joy because of this pairing, especially given the fact that the author provided this book free..But noThe problem with this story can summarized briefly submissive fairytale I know of course that there is whole sub genre of such stories and a whole target group consisting mainly of some ladiesUnfortunataly for this book I m not a lady, especially not that kind and while my fantasies are no less pervert than those of the mentioned target group, they are different. And I believe that, should the story be written less the way it was written, it would reach broader group of readers and earned better ratingSo, why I hate Ocean of love First of all, there is Marissa Though, she is described as somehow independent, pursuing her own career and so on, this dimension of hers is intentionally and systematically neglected Almost from the start Mariissa fall s for Wyatt, but this is explained as being at least partially driven by mermaid Estrous cycle From the start then, it is hinted then Marissa s desire is ultimately simply experiencing an animal lust This wouldn t be that bad if it weren t for the assymetry Wyatt also display s carnal desire but he instantly and fully intentionally starts playing assshole predator dominator role with little or no opposition from Marissa The mermaid on the other hand does NOT want to involve herself in sex much less in relationship She is aware that this is a lust and does not want to submit to it It is only her aforementioned physiology that forces her to have a sex with Wyatt But there isNot only is the Marissa deprived of free will the story makes her also helpless with respect to her native enviroment water, ocean view spoiler Shortly after having sex with fucko Wyatt Marissa transforms into mermaid, but just because she is slightly dizzy after sex ,she gets stabbed but some strange piece of metal trident which got there out of nowhere hide spoiler So not only she is too weak to control herself , she even cannot take after herself in the water as a mermaid And what isthis is confirmed and accepted by her by Wyatt forcing her to promise her not to swim too far from shore without his being present Since when, the fuck, the cretures of the sea need human assistance in swimming The story of Marissa is ,then, a sad tale about a lady who loses control over her physiology and then her freedom and her free life, ultimately becoming sort of sex slave or rather sex breeder slave tied for the rest of her life to the human rubbish Though this is all sweeted by the concluding remarks about soul mating and other bullshistupidities, no sane reader can escape conclusion that Marissa lost her freedom. This enrages me totally, because I consider mermaid as a symbol of, among other things, a freedom They are meant to be free creatures I suspect that even old folktales some of them at least considered mermaids as someone whose love has to be EARNED, as they are free to refuse it if they want. Then, because the author spoiled in her story what was most beautiful in mermaid symbolism I m NOT gonna to be merciful even though my own literary taste is rather unsophisticated, and ,because of that, I tend to be tolerant towards the others The author showed some literary skills by building erotic tension throughout the whole story, but this does not redeem her from the sin of enslawing sexy and smart mermaid and woman Not liked, not like, not gonnna like

So I guess I didn t read the whole synopsis of this book or if I did I didn t take the word Mermaid seriously But the main heroine is definitely a mermaid living on land It was a great story It was entertaining and a quick read It was also a light read it didn t hurt my heart every time I flipped the page, which was good because I didn t want a heavy reading The reason for my four stars then Well, it kind of reminded me about a movie you know the one with Tom Hanks I think its cal So I guess I didn t read the whole synopsis of this book or if I did I didn t take the word Mermaid seriously But the main heroine is definitely a mermaid living on land It was a great story It was entertaining and a quick read It was also a light read it didn t hurt my heart every time I flipped the page, which was good because I didn t want a heavy reading The reason for my four stars then Well, it kind of reminded me about a movie you know the one with Tom Hanks I think its called Splash Yeah, it reminded me of that movie except there wasn t a time constraint on the girl for living on land And I guess it wasn t super similar to the movie when you think about it but for some reason I kept envisioning that movie with every word I read and it pulled me out of the novel just a little bit But all in all this was a great read The characters were enjoyable and the plot was enjoyable Give it a chance and read it And to add to it, there was just enough steam to make my dreams of mermaids as a child become my dreams of mermaids and sexy men now as an adult

I have to admit that during the first few pages I was a bit confused with the realtor talk, but then Marissa and Wyatt met and I became swept away by the tide of lust and romance that built between them It was like riding the waves with the characters one moment they were pulling back from each other, trying to fight the inevitable feelings they had and the next they were moving forward and into each other giving in to their passion in little bits and pieces that kept me wantingand mo I have to admit that during the first few pages I was a bit confused with the realtor talk, but then Marissa and Wyatt met and I became swept away by the tide of lust and romance that built between them It was like riding the waves with the characters one moment they were pulling back from each other, trying to fight the inevitable feelings they had and the next they were moving forward and into each other giving in to their passion in little bits and pieces that kept me wantingandA kiss here, a touch there, lust mingled with raw emotions that made my heart constrict and a sweet undercurrent that made the story not only sensual but heartwarming as well Oceans of Love was a well worth read

This was a quick read The story was okay, but for me the pace was a bit off it progressed way to fast I wanted Wyatt and Marissa to spendtime together I also wanted to knowabout mermaids It was great that Wyatt didn t care about her true form however, I would have expected him to be a littleshocked I really liked the interaction between the characters and I loved how Wyatt made Marissa feel her first time.

This was actually a really good book It did a good job of building up the characters There was enough detail to where you felt like you knew them The ending was good, but a little short It left me wantingBut overall, a definite read.

I don t like supernatural romances and had no idea this would be one The book was quite ok but the ending was a bit rushed.I would have liked to know a bitabout their life after the first night before skipping to one year from now.
