I read a lot of books and this series was very refreshing to me I though the writer did a excellent job on describing the times and hardships of the times of traveling west during the 1850s Loved how we got to follow the lives through the years and friendships Maybe I wouldn t have timed it exactly during the Custer invasion because it took away from the everyday struggles of living as an Indian, and that was the good part that in itself would have been enough to keep the reader interested I read a lot of books and this series was very refreshing to me I though the writer did a excellent job on describing the times and hardships of the times of traveling west during the 1850s Loved how we got to follow the lives through the years and friendships Maybe I wouldn t have timed it exactly during the Custer invasion because it took away from the everyday struggles of living as an Indian, and that was the good part that in itself would have been enough to keep the reader interested without having to include the huge historical massacre, there was no way to do it justice without revealingcharacters Over all I give it a 4plus stars because it was written with such descriptive characters, notable animals and lasting love of family without too much gore or to many sex scenes.Laura

I really enjoyed this series It taught me a lot about the indians, their ways, and how badly the government treated them It was also a good love story spanning over 50 years.
