I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. In a situation very reminiscent of The Maze Runner the story starts off with our heroine, Pollen McRae, awakening in a forest with no short term memories and unsure of where she is and who she can trust To say that this book starts with a bang would be an understatement Daelynn wastes no time at all in getting right into the action and having Pollen pursued by bounty hunters straight off the bat and the pace doesn I was given a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. In a situation very reminiscent of The Maze Runner the story starts off with our heroine, Pollen McRae, awakening in a forest with no short term memories and unsure of where she is and who she can trust To say that this book starts with a bang would be an understatement Daelynn wastes no time at all in getting right into the action and having Pollen pursued by bounty hunters straight off the bat and the pace doesn t really let up from that moment There was a point midway through the book where I apprehensively thought that things may start to slow down and lose momentum, however I was very relived to find that this didn t happen In fact this particular part in the book was used to go back over lost memories so that we could get a clearer picture as to what happened prior to Pollen waking up in the forest. The pace of the story is what really drew me in, it was action packed from the start and never let you feel at ease that Pollen and her newly found companion, Marcus Stygma, would have any respite from what was happening around them. With the age of the main characters being slightly older than normal in a YA novel there were some adult themes that you wouldn t normally see in a book from this genre But as these weren t very detailed it didn t spoil the story but rather made itbelievable You would expect this from people in their late teens early twenties. One thing that was lacking, in my own opinion, was the absence of any explanation as to who was behind the release of the virus and the main Big Bad that would be the focus of Pollen and Marcuis efforts This will, I expect, be covered in the future books but a littleinformation would have been nice to see.Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be adding Crimson Return to my list of books to read in the near future

I finished reading this trilogy a few days ago and needed to think about what I would write This story deserves a good and honest review.I ve read a lot of dystopian and post apocalypse stories and this one, Fall of Venus, set itself appart from all the ones I ve read For one it s a story about hope where fiction sort of meets reality. It s a clever story Daelynn used a good doze of imagination You won t see the end coming unless you read all 3 books It s worth it.Normally when I m done read I finished reading this trilogy a few days ago and needed to think about what I would write This story deserves a good and honest review.I ve read a lot of dystopian and post apocalypse stories and this one, Fall of Venus, set itself appart from all the ones I ve read For one it s a story about hope where fiction sort of meets reality. It s a clever story Daelynn used a good doze of imagination You won t see the end coming unless you read all 3 books It s worth it.Normally when I m done reading a story, I move on to another one Even though the story was an amazing one and I was happy I read it, I take it for it is, a story and I don t think to much about it after.Daelynn s story is different as I felt I had to stop reading for a few days and think about it I normally read every day and now I think I m going through withdrawal lol.The story has a lot of action and a lot of other elements that make the story an amazing one But one thing it has is it makes you thing about our own planet, humanity and beliefs.I have an awful feeling that within the next 100 years we will have a war triggered by earth resources decreasing, price of food, global warming, the richer getting richer, the middle class thinning out, power hungry people and governments, greed, overpopulating, etc.At the same time we will be colonising Mars I hope we don t make the same mistakes we are doing with Earth.I don t know if Daelynn ment to send us a message through her story or just try, with her story, to spark conversions around coffee stations or at kitchen tables but that story is definitely the kind of story that makes you talk about all that and maybe change your thoughts on humanity and or beliefs. What if the story becomes a reality for Earth and humanity Thank you Daelynn for an amazing story

A fabulous dystopian story set in a future where the planet has been ravaged by climate change and a killer virus that has virtually annihilated the population The characters all mesh so well that you feel like you know them personally Super characters strong, secure, but with pasts of heartbreak It is an adventurous, emotional roller coaster traveling through on a track away from reality to another society where the human flaw is genetics and one time lovers are separated into prisoners A fabulous dystopian story set in a future where the planet has been ravaged by climate change and a killer virus that has virtually annihilated the population The characters all mesh so well that you feel like you know them personally Super characters strong, secure, but with pasts of heartbreak It is an adventurous, emotional roller coaster traveling through on a track away from reality to another society where the human flaw is genetics and one time lovers are separated into prisoners and enforcers I couldn t put it down and can t wait to see what happens in the continuance I look forward to see where Pollen, Marcus and little Evie end up Will their future become bright or will the plight of the world take its toll A wonderful read
