4 4.5 stars Jax Dean is a character I met over two years ago when I read Ending a Broken Journey and I ve been waiting for his book ever since Jax was by far my favorite character in the first book, but I had no clue as to all the heartache he d been through Most of the time Jax seems so care free and lovable you would never guess the pain he s endured His past completely shattered my heartI am never going to move past this I am never going to be okay I am never going to love a 4 4.5 stars Jax Dean is a character I met over two years ago when I read Ending a Broken Journey and I ve been waiting for his book ever since Jax was by far my favorite character in the first book, but I had no clue as to all the heartache he d been through Most of the time Jax seems so care free and lovable you would never guess the pain he s endured His past completely shattered my heartI am never going to move past this I am never going to be okay I am never going to love again And, I am never, ever, going to be the sameJax s story is one I don t want spoiled so I won t go into detail What happened to him, I can t imagine much that would be worse than that kind of loss I cried several times while reading this, but it wasn t all sad In fact, the flashbacks to the past made me smilethan anything else Young Jax Dean will give you something to smile about That teenage boy is a hoot Confident, a little cocky and just a kid that steal your heart Jax s high school years were so much fun to read about This story takes place from the time Jax is 15 and ends up in the present, where he s 27 There are many flashbacks from different points in his life, but they all fit into the story well Since that one big thing happened in Jax s life, he s never been the same Not completely Then he meets someone that starts to bring that side of him out again Someone who might be worth the risk to tryShe thinks I m ridiculous I think I m cute At times, our whatever we are, is so easy and relaxing and gives me hope of maybe someday settling down Someday Cass hasn t had the easiest life either Growing up, things were hard for her Now she s an adult She has a job she enjoys, great friends and life is good Then she meets Jax He brings out a different side of Cass I did enjoy the dynamic of Cass and Jax s relationship I loved the friendship in the beginning and all Jax s reasons she loved him I loved the light and carefree, but I also didn t mind the heavy It worked with the story I loved the past story so much, but I really do wish I feltwhen it came to Cass and Jax s relationship together view spoiler Sometimes, I felt like Cass wasn t the heroine of the story at all I feltfor Audrey than her and I found myself wanting to readabout the past then the present at times I had that gut feeling that Audrey was the only girl he was really supposed to be with hide spoiler Just as the first book had journal entries poetry that added so much to the story, I felt that Jax s song lyrics did the same in this book I felt so much emotion through his songs Melissa is a very strong writer, not just with the stories she writes but with all the extras when it comes to the poetry lyrics Jax is a fantastic character with tons of heart and his story didn t disappoint I also truly loved his friends Stiles and Holland I think they brought a lot to the story, both in present and past If you re looking for an emotional read with tons of heart and feels, with some steam and humor as well this is one I would recommend

JaxWhen I met this guy in the first book of the series I couldn t help but fall in love with him He was funny, teasing, tattooed so he seemed to have the whole package However, reading his book I was introduced to several other aspects of his character. This strong guy has been through a heart breaking past and you can t even imagine how his life went from perfect to hell.During his journey he seemed unable to move forward Everyone was moving on except from Jax.It took several efforts from his bro JaxWhen I met this guy in the first book of the series I couldn t help but fall in love with him He was funny, teasing, tattooed so he seemed to have the whole package However, reading his book I was introduced to several other aspects of his character. This strong guy has been through a heart breaking past and you can t even imagine how his life went from perfect to hell.During his journey he seemed unable to move forward Everyone was moving on except from Jax.It took several efforts from his brother and his best friends to make him alive again because he was dragging himself to a path that has not an easy return. At this point of his life Jax looks to have moved forward but the wounds of the past are not completely healed.Cass, a girl that s been a lot around lately , is here to make him alive again Yet Cass is quite hesitant about his intentions cause he is so enigmatic and the past that he carries is definitely an ureachable place for her. However , she cannot let him down, she is chasing him and helping him get it together and finally start a new beginning in his life you just need to start a new chapterMy thoughts I was not disapointed from this book at all.Jax is dreamy and swoon worthy but that is not the only reason I liked it.I have to admit that I m such a marshmallow and I cried several times.I have reached this point of my life that I think crying over books or movies is ridiculous but HEY I CAN T HELP IT So leave me alone in my corner while I mBut also this playboy made me laugh a lot.I was giggling or grinning like an idiot with his cocky attitude Anyways, it was overall great but I neededof Cass.Sometimes I felt her absence but I think that this happened because of the many flashbacks we got to read.So that s all folks STAY TUNED BECAUSE THE READ MORE SLEEP LESS BOOK BLOG WILL BE HOSTING A GIVEAWAY WITH A COPY OF THIS BOOK AND OF COURSE THERE IS AN INTERVIEW WITH LOVELY MELISSA.Don t worry if you haven t read the first book.In my opinion it can be read as a standalone and the author does a great job re introducing us the characters of the first book so you will not be troubled reading it

I received an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review Thank youI always knew, no matter what, she d be mine We thought we had forever, time was of no importance No one could predict, no one could make senseJaxon, Jaxon, Jaxon I always knew that there was always something hidden beneath your snarky, playboy, tatted up, and carefree exterior, but when I got to see underneath I was astounded and heartbroken for you To have everything you could want in the world and have I received an ARC via the author in exchange for an honest review Thank youI always knew, no matter what, she d be mine We thought we had forever, time was of no importance No one could predict, no one could make senseJaxon, Jaxon, Jaxon I always knew that there was always something hidden beneath your snarky, playboy, tatted up, and carefree exterior, but when I got to see underneath I was astounded and heartbroken for you To have everything you could want in the world and have it all taken away in a blink. Those of you who have or maybe not read bk1 of this series, Jaxon Jax Dean is the younger brother of Drew and Kennie s best guy friend from childhood. He s the life of the party, the ladies man, and not one to want to settle down with any woman Only meaningless, no strings attached sex for him please. That is, until he meets Cassandra Cass Blondie Tyce One of Kennie s two girl besties Cass is the opposite and quite different from any female he s ever encountered since her Cass is hardworking, confident, and quick to call out Jax on his BS and shoot him down on his advances as she sees fit.She and Jax indulge on a frivolous relationship, one filled with no commitments or expectations, and soon both find themselves bargaining much deeper than both could ever have had imagined.I really loved both Jax and Cass, along with, the rest of the Journey crew Their love story isn t an easy one, as Cass still battles pangs of her foster home upbringing and Jax is merely a broken shell of a man he once was.A lot of this book focused on coming to terms, letting go, opening yourself up to people your own self to love And moving on past it to embrace a brighter future.Jax and Cass were lovable characters, both with hearts of gold and so much to give to others Cass was a definite winning female heroine, as her persistence, resilience, tenacity, and unfailing attitude really won me over Her staying over at Jax s place for 6 days on his couch with him giving her sh , and constantly fighting for him, showed true love, dedication, and a lot about her character. And Jax, as much as I wanted to slap some sense into him at times for his harsh and ill mannered treatment to Cass, I totally felt his plight and conflicted feelings for her It was bound to happen and wasn t something to easily get over or succumb to.However, nonetheless, I loved LOVED and even laughed at his witty, self assured quirks and reasons for why Cass in his mind undoubtedly loves him Haha He s so conceited and yet hilarious Lol.And yet, the poetic passages and song lyrics he writes, is so deep, so touching and beautiful A very dynamic and complicated character, that one.Definitely, a MUST READ Author Melissa L Delgado has outdone herself in this gorgeously written second installment of the Journey series that will tug at your heartstrings and never let it go I REALLY hope for Ade and Kip s story to be up next And appearances from the rest of the cast Stiles and HollandDo you think we ll be forever If I have my way Absolutely

I can hardly believe I waited 2 years for this book I loved the first book Ending a broken journey , it is one of my alltimefavs and ever since I ve read it, I was excited for Jax story. Two years is a long time, you read other books, fall in love with other characters and the authors who created them and sometimes unintentionally you lose sight of the book you couldn t wait to read. This was so not the case for me with Ending a torn past.No matter how many books I ve read in these two year I can hardly believe I waited 2 years for this book I loved the first book Ending a broken journey , it is one of my alltimefavs and ever since I ve read it, I was excited for Jax story. Two years is a long time, you read other books, fall in love with other characters and the authors who created them and sometimes unintentionally you lose sight of the book you couldn t wait to read. This was so not the case for me with Ending a torn past.No matter how many books I ve read in these two years, Jax was never forgotten and I regularly checked if there were news about the release.I was so happy when I was finally able to read it Before I started I made I short visit to Mackenzie and Drew s story and rereading the beautiful poems in their book made me wonder, if there would be something similar in Ending a torn past. And in Jax emotional journey we get wonderful, sad, heartbreaking lyrics 3 They made me cry right from the start, I love them.Silence as I watch you fade awayAsking myself how could you not stayNothingness as you silently weepWanting this pain to forever seepIn Ending a broken journey we get to know a happy Jax or so it them seems but it is hinted that something happened in the past I already fell in love with him in the first book and reading his full story made me love him sooo muchHe totally stole my heart and is my fav Dean brother sorry Drew.I didn t expect Jax past to be so heartbreaking, he loves and cares so deep, it really broke my heart. And Cass, I admire her strength, her big heart and how she didn t give up on Jax despite her own hurtful past. They are friends first and share a sweet and funny connection in the beginning but both are keeping their secrets, both not wanting to fall in love.I am never going to move past this.I am never going to be okay.I am never going to love again. And, I am never, ever, going to be the same.Jax list of reasons to why Cass loves him so much made me smile everytime Besides their touching lovestory, the friendships are what I loved the most Melissa created a group of friends that shows what true friendship is about Sometimes the world around us crashes down, but only to prove to us how beautiful it can be when built back up Ending a torn past will be right next to Ending a broken journey on my alltimefavs shelf.Jax and Cass story about loss, trust, second chances, healing, forgiveness and hope will stay with me forever 3This Kurt Halsey pic captures how I feel about Jax and Cass and this amazing group of friends

I was blessed with an ARC of this story I say blessed because WOW is this one special Jaxon Dean Let s all take a moment to swoon a little bit swoons Okay, now let s discuss We first met this endearing character in Ms Delgado s first book, Ending a Broken Journey He was the comedic relief that had a secret or two that kept him from being too perfect He was charming, hysterical, beautiful, and the breath of fresh air we all clung too while following Drew and Mac s evolving relationship I was blessed with an ARC of this story I say blessed because WOW is this one special Jaxon Dean Let s all take a moment to swoon a little bit swoons Okay, now let s discuss We first met this endearing character in Ms Delgado s first book, Ending a Broken Journey He was the comedic relief that had a secret or two that kept him from being too perfect He was charming, hysterical, beautiful, and the breath of fresh air we all clung too while following Drew and Mac s evolving relationship They found their happiness Now it s Jax s turn.Enter Cassandra Tyce, another lovable character from Ending a Broken Journey She has a past, as do we all, and has battled to become the person she is Her tale is familiar to some, common enough for most to understand and empathize, but truly uniquely her own Jax and Cass Can two people with broken pasts come together to build an unbreakable future In order to move forward, the past must be conquered Ms Delgado does an amazing job showing how hard overcoming your past can be It cripples you It destroys relationships It causes pain, grief, and sometimes irreparable damage An author can truly go to the tip top of the drama scale with the events in this book, but thankfully Ms Delgado keeps things refreshingly real and extremely relatable Her wit, sarcasm, and underlying positivity shine through all of the turmoil that incurs I adore both of these books am anxious to see what magic she shares with us next
