Princess Leila feels suffocated with her palace life She wants freedom and is desperate to become independent and get a job Advertising tycoon Gabe Steel is in her country visiting her brother and when she finds herself in his hotel room their instant chemistry leads to a hot one night stand but with serious consequences Unplanned pregnancy leads to marriage but Gabe s past and dark secrets can tear them apart This is a passionate love story Leila is strong but also loving and compassionate Princess Leila feels suffocated with her palace life She wants freedom and is desperate to become independent and get a job Advertising tycoon Gabe Steel is in her country visiting her brother and when she finds herself in his hotel room their instant chemistry leads to a hot one night stand but with serious consequences Unplanned pregnancy leads to marriage but Gabe s past and dark secrets can tear them apart This is a passionate love story Leila is strong but also loving and compassionate Gabe is a true Alpha male Powerful and isolated he never lets himself become genuinely involved with others and that s making a relationship between him and Leila impossible I loved how their baby forces Gabe to face the demons from his own childhood and how Leila s love melts his cold dark heart

I really, really wanted to read this book for a very, very long time now We have read about Sheikhs being tamed by innocent, young maidens from the west But this was a spin off the former trope We had a woman from the east falling in love with a man from the west We seldom see this happening in HP land So this was very refreshing My only complain is that I couldn t really feel the love the hero and the heroine had for each other Yes, the sex was great and they were physically very much I really, really wanted to read this book for a very, very long time now We have read about Sheikhs being tamed by innocent, young maidens from the west But this was a spin off the former trope We had a woman from the east falling in love with a man from the west We seldom see this happening in HP land So this was very refreshing My only complain is that I couldn t really feel the love the hero and the heroine had for each other Yes, the sex was great and they were physically very much compatible but on an emotional level they never really bonded If a little time would have been spent on establishing their closeness then wouldn t have any trouble in accepting the abrupt declaration of love on the part of the hero at the end of the story.I hope HP featuresheroines from the east orient They make interesting heroines But can we not have poor little rich princesses only I would give it 2.5 stars I understand that there are limitations and it is no easy task to churn out books every few months but I can always hope, specially if the author is one of your favorite authors I would have given a higher rating had there been some time spent developing the relationship, giving the readers little clues that they were heading towards something great, even if they were aware of it themselves Sharon Kendrick still remains one of my favorite authors and I am looking forward to another book by her

I really, really enjoyed this, and at some point I have to do a lengthier review on my blog, but for now The heroine in this is the exotic Middle Easterner the hero is English I ve seen reviews saying she s stupid, and I have no idea why she s a princess, with a pampered but circumscribed existence, and when she s alone with the hero having gone to ask him for a job and they re attracted to each other, she seizes the chance to have some agency over her own life and sexuality by having sex I really, really enjoyed this, and at some point I have to do a lengthier review on my blog, but for now The heroine in this is the exotic Middle Easterner the hero is English I ve seen reviews saying she s stupid, and I have no idea why she s a princess, with a pampered but circumscribed existence, and when she s alone with the hero having gone to ask him for a job and they re attracted to each other, she seizes the chance to have some agency over her own life and sexuality by having sex with him They use protection, but she ends up pregnant anyway, and has to trick her brother into letting her go to London where she tracks down the hero, and they try to make the best of the situation. It wasn t perfect oh GOD I am so over damaged men as heroes But since most criticisms of Sheikh romances bring up the absence of Middle Eastern women since the heroine is so often a Westerner who, in loving the Sheikh Sultan whatever manages to correct his culture s views treatment of women it was interesting to see an effort made to write the romance with a Middle Eastern heroine, who has enough intelligence to effect her own changes

One word to describe Shamed in the Sands is underwhelming It has no vibrancy despite it s instalust beginning And the heroine such an idiot Her search for empowerment lead to chaos The hero was a typical HP hero except he isn t a jerk just a guy dealing with the consequences of a baby with a stranger.I wanted to like this book but grew annoyed with the heroine s idiocy and willingness to be upset with the hero over a marriage neither wanted but her impulsivity created It really irritated me One word to describe Shamed in the Sands is underwhelming It has no vibrancy despite it s instalust beginning And the heroine such an idiot Her search for empowerment lead to chaos The hero was a typical HP hero except he isn t a jerk just a guy dealing with the consequences of a baby with a stranger.I wanted to like this book but grew annoyed with the heroine s idiocy and willingness to be upset with the hero over a marriage neither wanted but her impulsivity created It really irritated me that the hero apologized at the end when the heroine should have since she is responsible for the angst

I enjoy Sharon Kendrick s books I like that the heroine of this one is middle eastern and the hero is English I enjoyed this novel as it offered something different than usual It was well written and I am looking forward to the next in the series.PSI think it is a pity that some people rated this 1 star My 1 stars are saved for trashy, poorly written novels, with spelling mistakes, incorrect grammar and badly written English not because I personally did not connect with the story or the I enjoy Sharon Kendrick s books I like that the heroine of this one is middle eastern and the hero is English I enjoyed this novel as it offered something different than usual It was well written and I am looking forward to the next in the series.PSI think it is a pity that some people rated this 1 star My 1 stars are saved for trashy, poorly written novels, with spelling mistakes, incorrect grammar and badly written English not because I personally did not connect with the story or the h h I give 2 or 3 stars for those
