Love the charactors The usual trio of sistersone shy and bookish, one shall we say sassy , and the other in between But the time, the atmosphere and the supporting charactors add flavor and depth to what is so far a wonderful book Not quite sure where the story is going but its a good trip so far.

This is my second time reading this I have laughed so much I m Italian and Louisa has done a great job depicting the women The grandmother was hilarious and reminded me of mine The St Rita statue, the food, the superstition, it s all there Wonderful

Fun little book As someone who grew up in an urban Italian neighborhood, a lot of the characters rang true Anona in particular Not something I would keep on my shelf for a re read, but it was fun.

  7. says:

this was just a really fun read i was drawn to it because sara nelson talks about it in her year of reading book, and it s about 3 sisters a pattern in my family although the resemblances end there, i found this story entertaining and funny sometimes a bit stylized, 30 s gangster, hell s kitchen mob activity, but i still really cared for the characters.

  8. says:

I like this book The ending is unrealistic but it ends happy I always love a happy ending Reading this book I sort of wondered if the story is based on the author s grandparents and father I liked the closeness between the sisters They would have done anything for each other.
