I really enjoyed this story of Lily and Josh It s a rural romance, but it s a country set story with a difference No red dust, sheep or cattle, Lily who returns to her mother s estate Mirabook and is down on her luck works in the local cafe and Josh is a rural advisor, but the action doesn t spend a lot of time mustering stock or moving stock, and the property involved is down on its luck too, a bit like the heroine, and in need of restoration and a second chance.I thought the author wrote the characters beautifully, and I was completely engaged through the book I really loved Lily any surprise that I wouldn t like a Lily What I enjoyed most was that Lily wasn t a fly off the handle, angsty heroine She genuinely expected the best from people and the scene where she blows out candles and does a few self affirmations, I think this was my favourite scene in the book Generally, Lily tried to talk out her problems passions with Josh who was much harder headed I l...

In addition to being a good read with excellent writing, this book offers the reader the opportunity to consider the role that empathy, an open mind and self interest play in understanding human frailty and reconciliation Figgy
